Hotel Restaurant Waldschanke in Schwalmstadt

Just great! Great wine, very tasty food, friendly and attentive service! We always like to come back if our government lets us again! Hang in there and stay healthy!

Hello everyone who likes good, delicious food. We were eating at the Waldschänke yesterday and it was just perfect. The service was super nice and competent, the food was served quickly and hot. The taste was just a 1+ my beef roulade was so tender and the red cabbage was super seasoned. We also had schnitzel and Maultaschen - everything was delicious. Big compliments to the cook and the whole staff and the boss. I can only recommend it again and again.

Have eaten here many times and would never be disappointed. Super delicious food. (Pierogi tastes like Omi?) Pleasant atmosphere and very nice staff. Price-performance top ?? Always happy

We went to the Waldschänke for the first time today ... And were a little disappointed. Unfortunately, our table (we made a reservation by phone) felt like a "side table" Our drink requests were accepted very quickly, as was our food order ..... the drinks came very quickly .... then nothing happened for 45 minutes ... the food came after 59 minutes .. Unfortunately our mushrooms in cream were a dark sauce without any cream, not even with a hint of whipped cream or cream ... and they didn't look like fresh mushrooms either (more like canned) ... The schnitzel tasted ok .... a bit of salt and pepper was missing, but it's no challenge to season the meat yourself and to your own taste ..

Great value for money. Very homely atmosphere and very nice company. We like to be here.

Very nice location, nice hospitality. The Waldschänke has a beautiful beer garden where you can linger. There is also a great playground for younger guests. The sanitary area is clean, but smells unpleasant when you enter it. The food was very tasty! ?

Restaurant with Polish but also good home cooking. Very nice terrace with lots of tables. Now the kitchen would have to be made from fresh ingredients and everything would be fine

A nice shop, but the price-performance ratio of the rum steak leaves something to be desired. And it wasn't medium for a long time, but how do you want to roast a piece of meat that is only 3 cm high !! Unfortunately not recommendable

Friendly staff. Had a schnitzel which was very tasty and the portion was more than sufficient. So good value for money. When the weather is good, it is wonderful to sit in the garden. Polish food and drinks are also offered there. Would love to come back.

Staff friendly. Guest room clean, small children's play area. Eating very average, lots of finished parts.

Mega relaxed sitting outside, right at the Kiel canal and nearly under the crossing at Holtenau bridge. Drinks, cold and hot, available as well as little snacks and cake at very reasonable prices. Little sitting place with roof available. The personnel is very friendly and easy going. I liked it a lot! 21.02.2020 Added: I just realise this is a review for a different place! Look at Kanalperle and my comments make a lot more sense :-D

We tried the Waldschänke today on a Thursday. And lo and behold, we were ALL positively surprised by the food. It just tasted very good and was also plentiful (I had schnitzel a la Meier). The decor is modern with old charm. Were served in a friendly and nice way without being pushy. We look forward to trying the beer garden in the warmer times.

Very friendly staff, as an appetizer there is a huge bowl of homemade lard, too bad that you have to leave so much. Schnitzel also delicious.
